General Info for Those New to the Event: This is a camping-oriented, military-historical
flea market and vehicle show at a large KOA campground in the California
Delta area. It offers the largest annual buying and selling opportunity
plus MV attendance in the West, followed by our September Camp Delta
event. There is NO CHARGE FOR ADMISSION - campers only pay
their daily fee to KOA and day users commuting from hotels and motels
in nearby Lodi or Rio Vista pay nothing. Usually the dry camp area is on a first come basis...this year we are taking "reservations" which guarantees a space...If I don't have a "reservation" then any space left will be on a first come basis. No deposit is necessary for dry camping..just need name and phone number- charges are $15/night....contact Jo-ann @ 408 238 8277 or mamalesser@yahoo.com PLEASE NO FIRES ON GROUND - USE ELEVATED
UNITS ONLY, BECAUSE THE For professional and amateur vendors this event is the best deal out there. There is NO VENDOR FEE, only the camping fee. Numbered full-hookup sites are generous, mostly 40'x40' square unless on the outside of turns. There is a dry camping field for those wanting to spend less. We also devote some space for day-use vendors with no camping. Non-MV parking is limited in Camp 2 and 4. Military vehicles are invited with NO REGISTRATION FEES, just bring it! You are welcome to drive around the campground at any time. MVs are generally parked at your campsite, or if you are commuting you can park at someone else's site or we will find a place for it. We usually have two or more themed MV displays for several hours each on Friday and Saturday. There is NO JUDGING except occasionally we have a People's Choice Award. Activities such as seminars, discussion groups, talks, vehicle and militaria displays are publicized here, in the MVCC News newsletter, and on a flyer given out at the camping office and posted at the restrooms. Attendees are more than welcome to set up military-historical displays at their campsite even if they haven't told us ahead of time. Military living historians are quite welcome at MVCC events. We have a grass area with some shade that can be used for living history displays and camping. This is not a "civilian" camping area. Contact John Neuenburg for info at in_garage@hotmail.com. Individuals are encouraged to wear obsolete uniforms or clothes whenever they want. There is nothing like a live mannequin to show off collectibles. Collectors of WW2 Axis or other former enemy-of-the-U.S. militaria who wish to wear or display things should contact us for special instructions. PARKING: There is not much extra space in the campground. A small number of spaces are on the restroom side of the Pavilion. The Dry Camping field will be full of campers. There is no parking along the face of the Pavilion. NOTE: Due to increased camping pressure, no big rig or trailer storage in the dry camping field this April. Another field will be designated. There is a large field near the old guard shack at the entrance to Tower Park. This is a great place for big rigs and trailers. Parking is not allowed along the lanes by the campsites unless you are within a campsite. Do not park in a campsite that is not yours, even if empty, because it won't be empty for long. Do not block roads, these are fire lanes, and if you are stopping to load something, be prepared to move if something wide (me) needs to drive by. Please respect signs you see. Parking on the levee is only legal near the office, not in the boat shed area beyond the Camp 2 entrance ramp. Illegally parked vehicles may be towed to Lodi. Food options in camp, other than what you bring, include catered BBQ dinners Thursday and Friday evenings and a spaghetti feed Saturday evening. Lunch options are likely. Morning coffee and treats by The Madames are available on Thursday-Saturday. There is a restaurant with bar at the marina next to the store. Don't forget the Early Bird Potluck on Monday evening and Taco Tuesday. Details are published on the Activities page. Live ammunition is prohibited from this event. The MVCC Board and Stockton/Delta KOA reserve the right to restrict participation by those who disrupt our event for any reason. Click here for Camp Delta Spring Activities
September 2010 Camp Delta to be Centered
in Campground 4 Many of the campers in Campground 2, the one next to the levee, choose their Fall site because they have it in the Spring, or because it can be less dusty. Some have told us they feel uneasy picking a Camp 4 site because they assumed the person that used it in the Spring may want it in the Fall, despite there being no Fall reservation for it. It's quite likely available! So we encourage Camp 2 campers to investigate #4 and move there in the Fall if you like. We have plenty of room! This is not mandatory of course. Contact Jo-Ann Lesser about available spaces she may know about in #4. Be aware that we plan to mention "Campground 4" in our advertising for that meet and are asking KOA to assign new "MVers" to #4 and to screen "civilian" reservations and place them in #2. This means the Camp 2 MV population could shrink. Keep in mind that KOA will someday rehab #4 and pave the remaining roads, so this will eliminate the dust advantage #2 has. Might be time to lock-in a Camp 4 site? Hopefully we will build the Fall meet attendance, one of the biggest meets in the West, so that we'll have a pure group of hobbyists in Campground 4.
