Spring Camp Delta at Tower Park
The largest annual military vehicle event in the West

General Info for Those New to the Event:

This is a camping-oriented, military-historical flea market and vehicle show at a large KOA campground in the California Delta area. It offers the largest annual buying and selling opportunity plus MV attendance in the West, followed by our September Camp Delta event. There is NO CHARGE FOR ADMISSION - campers only pay their daily fee to KOA and day users commuting from hotels and motels in nearby Lodi or Rio Vista pay nothing.

  • No vendor fees, just your camping rental through KOA - full hookup or dry camping, cabins may also be available
  • Hotels are six miles away in Lodi or Rio Vista
  • Rosa's Restaurant and Bar plus KOA store are onsite
  • Boat ramp
  • Washers, dryers, restrooms of course
  • Swimming pool should be operational
  • Kid and dog play areas available

    SPECIAL NOTES FOR CAMPERS:

Our own Jo-Ann Lesser is our interface with KOA for reservations. Please contact her at 408-238-8277 or mamalesser@yahoo.com. Do not call KOA. She will then refer you to KOA so you can leave a deposit. If you have a site reserved and you are not using it this year but want to keep the reservation for next year, tell her, and also if you have a site to share. If you miss your arrival date and do not call KOA to tell them, they have the right to charge you for those nights.

DRY CAMPERS - Usually this area is on a first come basis but this year we are taking reservations which guarantees a space. Any remaining space will be on a first come basis. No deposit is necessary for dry camping... just need name and phone number. Charges are $15/night. Contact Jo-Ann.

PLEASE NO FIRES ON GROUND - USE ELEVATED UNITS ONLY, BECAUSE THE
PEAT SOIL BURNS!

VEHICLE AND TRAILER PARKING:

There is NO vehicle parking in Campground 2 or 4 that is NOT in your campsite. The small number of spaces near the Campground 4 restroom will likely be used by construction crew parking. The Dry Camping field is for camping only. No parking along roads by campsites - these are fire lanes. No parking in empty campsites because they won't be empty long! KOA will tow vehicles or trailers to Lodi. There is no parking along the face of the Pavilion and between there and the dry camping field. BUT... we have negotiated use of the levee in the boat shed area. Parallel park on the campground side only. We also have 22 parking spaces on the river side, between the Marina's large storage building and the first boat shed. These will be marked. Lastly there is a parking lot on the right side as you approach the old guard shack at the entrance to the facility. Please respect all traffic and no-parking signs you see.

Trailers must go in the lot to the left of the old guard shack. Please do not park trailers on the levee because we are desperate for day-use car parking close to camp.

More General Info

Military vehicles are invited with NO REGISTRATION FEES, just bring it! You are welcome to drive around the campground at any time. MVs are generally parked at your campsite, or if you are commuting you can park at someone else's site or we will find a place for it. We usually have two or more themed MV displays for several hours each on Friday and Saturday. There is NO JUDGING except occasionally we have a People's Choice Award.

Activities such as seminars, discussion groups, talks, vehicle and militaria displays are publicized here, in the MVCC News newsletter, and on a flyer given out at the camping office and posted at the restrooms. Attendees are more than welcome to set up military-historical displays at their campsite even if they haven't told us ahead of time.

Military living historians are quite welcome at MVCC events. We have a grass area with some shade that can be used for living history displays and camping. This is not a "civilian" camping area but a $15 dry camping fee per night will apply for camping. No fee for daytime historical displays. Contact John Neuenburg for info at in_garage@hotmail.com. Individuals are encouraged to wear obsolete uniforms or clothes whenever they want. There is nothing like a live mannequin to show off collectibles. Collectors of WW2 Axis or other former enemy-of-the-U.S. militaria who wish to wear or display things should contact us for special instructions.

Live ammunition is prohibited at this event.

Food options in camp, other than what you bring, often include catered BBQ dinners Thursday and Friday evenings and a spaghetti feed Saturday evening. Lunch options are possible. Rosa's Cafe includes a bar and is overlooking the marina next to the store. Don't forget the Early Bird Potluck on Monday evening. Details are published on the Activities page.

The MVCC Board and Stockton/Delta KOA reserve the right to restrict participation by those who disrupt our event for any reason.
