2010 Camp Delta Events Lineup
Be sure to check back as more activities are added
(last update - 07MAR10)

This event is the oldest and largest annual MV rally and vendor event in the Western U.S., taking place every April in North-Central California since 1978! MVCC members please refer to your newsletter for additional details. If you don't see enough information here and don't get our monthly newsletter, please join the largest MV club in the U.S.! All items are subject to change, so please come back here for the latest dope!

Most scheduled activities are Thursday through Saturday.

There is no vendor fee - only your daily camping fee through Stockton/Delta KOA! See KOA contact info elsewhere in the website. Campsite holders are welcome to set out military-themed displays, vendor tables, and "stuff" within their (typically) 38'x38' grass space. All numbered spaces feature full hookups. You will also find area lodging listed in this website.

PLEASE NO FIRES ON GROUND - USE ELEVATED UNITS ONLY, BECAUSE THE
PEAT SOIL BURNS!

Spring 2010 Special Displays and Activities

The biggest annual MV rally and military flea market in the West should be bigger and better than ever if that's possible! We will have some new vehicle showcases plus most of the features you have experienced at prior events. If you have only attended our Fall event, the Spring event is much larger! Camping space might be hard to get but JoAnn Lesser, wife of El Presidente, Kurt, is again interfacing with the KOA reservation staff to help folks. If you need a numbered site you must contact her at mamalesser@yahoo.com or use your Directory for their phone number. Do not ask KOA. If you have space to share, please contact her through Kurt.

Raffle Prizes Wanted for Camp Delta

By Chris Jorgensen
We will again have a raffle during the Friday night party and are looking for quality prizes! Donate at camp space #389 in Campground 4 (not far from Pavilion). Please label with donor name and what it is. We will mention donors during the raffle so your contribution WILL be appreciated. Vendors in particular should consider donating because of the advertising plus it is a way to give back to the people who keep you in business. Tickets will be deposited in cans by each item so people will know what they are competing for. If you have any questions please contact Kim or me at chrisjorgensen@comcast.net or (831) 234-6454.

Jeep Evolution - "One of Each" On Track for Camp Delta - Friday
By John Neuenburg

This April we will take on our biggest display challenge yet - one of every significant military jeep model and factory sub-model jeep! We don't know if this has ever been tried to this extent, but we expect a good turnout with your help! The display will be for several hours Friday morning. Co-coordinators are Chuck Lutz and Lloyd White.

We are building a list of jeeps now but some will be chosen during event week. ONLY ONE OF EACH will be displayed and we need alternates in case someone craps out or if we need a better example. This is not a restoration contest - we are looking for the most typical and complete of the type, particularly regarding the features that make it unique. Accessories or condition doesn't matter. Participants will receive a "thank you" certificate suitable for framing, a participant name badge, and a vehicle sign that will contain a short description. We will do a group photo with owners plus a massed convoy around the campground at noon. A People's Choice vote will award a nice plaque to the winner, being created by Lloyd White and Mark Strassel. Each voter will be entered into a drawing for their choice of a $100.00 gift certificate from Ron Fitzpatrick Jeep Parts or a $50.00 gift certificate for MVCC merchandise! This will be a 100+ yard lineup of 25+ jeeps so don't miss it!

Here is what we have as of 2/15. Names are confirmed or suspected. Just because we have a name please volunteer! Confirm your interest by contacting John Neuenburg at in_garage@hotmail.com or phone (415) 306-3607, or Chuck Lutz at cwl1948@comcast.net, or Lloyd White if he's given you his ultra super top secret access code ;). We want your contact info including Spring campsite #, cell number, and when arriving. Display is Friday morning, parade at noon.

Carter Jeep Carburetor Rebuilding Workshop Set for Camp Delta

By Robert Barrow
On Thursday at 2 pm I will be leading another seminar about the WW2 jeep carbs. This one will be a hand-on workshop where you bring your own carb and parts kit and we will go through it. Location will be in the Pavilion so when you drop parts they won't get lost in the grass! If you need a parts kit I recommend pre-ordering from Ron Fitzpatrick Jeep Parts and having him ship it to you or pick it up at the meet. His ad is in the newsletter. If you have any questions contact me at dozergpw@yahoo.com.

Live ammunition is not allowed at this event.

Please see Camp Delta Basic Training for more general info.
